2019 participant enrollment

Enrollment is open to advanced and pre-professional pianists who are interested in developing their playing, artistry, and careers.
During the festival, participants will study both privately and in public masterclasses with our world-renowned teaching artists and guests. Participants will have the opportunity to perform in the beautiful and historic venues of Porto during our Young International Talents Series and Festival Participants Recitals.

Porto Pianofest is a way to expand the global network of pianists, teachers, and students, as participants from around the world perform, practice, work, live, and create music together throughout the week.

typical festival day

Each festival day is filled with private lessons, masterclasses, and evening concerts. Lessons and masterclasses are open for all participants to observe. Most teaching will be conducted in English, however, some lessons and specialized classes may be conducted in Portuguese, Spanish, or French.
Classes and conferences will take place at the Conservatório de Música do Porto.
All students will receive free admission to festival concerts and recitals.

individual instruction and masterclasses

Active participants will receive four individual lessons— one with each artist faculty member, and a fourth with the teacher of their choice.
There is additional opportunity to play for Guest Artists in our workshops and public masterclasses. Students for such extra instruction will be chosen based on repertoire and at the discretion of the guest teacher.
